PhotoFacial or Fotofacial procedures are performed with our Palomar StarLux intense pulsed light system using specialized hand pieces which filter light from different parts of the spectrum. Each band of the spectrum has a wavelength that is ideal for different treatments, such as sunspot removal and vessel clearance. Photofacial technology will remove skin imperfections like sunspots, age spots, and superficial blue, red or purple veins and reduce the appearance of rosacea. PhotoFacials improve the skin by working beneath the epidermis to increase collagen and tighten the skin. The intense pulsed light is attracted to both the blood supply and melanin which removes unwanted facial veins and sun damage from the skin.
