Age brings gifts like wisdom and experience, but the natural loss of soft tissue that also comes with it rarely does favors for the appearance of the skin. New Image Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center is excited to announce that it has a potential solution to that problem in the form of Thermage®.

What Is Thermage®?
The Thermage® procedure utilizes focused, low amplitude radiofrequency energy to non-surgically tighten the skin around the face, though the product may also be used for the neck and chest in some cases. The energy is used to uniformly heat up the deep levels of the dermis which contain collagen, a main component in the formation of connective tissue. The Thermage® treatment aims to tighten existing collagen while at the same time priming the body for further production of it.
How Can Thermage® Benefit Me?
Thermage® is especially efficient at treating loose jowls, fine lines on the eyelids, creases around the mouth and lax facial skin in general. What sets Thermage® apart from other treatments is that it is non-invasive, meaning that nothing needs to be cut open and an anesthetic will most likely be unnecessary as the procedure is designed with minimal discomfort in mind.
Since the treatment is nonsurgical, there is no downtime necessary after the treatment and patients should be free to go about their business afterwards. Even with how superficial the process is, the effects are not, and the youthfulness added to the skin after the treatment should be pronounced for years following treatment.
Is it Safe?
The side effects incurred from Thermage® are typically minimal and if they do manifest they typically include redness and tenderness of skin along with minor swelling. Radiofrequency therapy in general has been safely used in operating rooms throughout the U.S for decades and has been extensively tested for patient safety and comfort.
Prior to the procedure, one of our professionals will sit down with you during your consultation appointment to discuss your medical history with you in order to find possible complications that could affect your safety during the treatment.
Do I Qualify?
Most healthy adults who are suffering from sagging facial skin who have no medical contraindications will likely be good candidates for the treatment, although a consultation appointment is necessary to confirm the viability of the treatment for the patient.
